my last three rounds have been 107s....which could be much, much worse. in fact- looking back over some of my rambles from this time last year--110 was a great score.
played friday at thornapple pointe (their site appears to be down as of post time)- which is always a challenge. without the penalty strokes i would have been knocking on 100. but-alas- you have to keep track of the penalty strokes.
i certainly haven't played as much golf as i would have liked to play this summer--plenty of other stuff going on. but suffice it to say that while i have sill never shot below triple digits, i have experienced some slight improvement. this is my fifth year playing, and i hope i have many more years left to play. just over five years ago- in the summer of 2002- i played my first real round of golf at Northmore Country Club in Highland Park, Illinois with two bankers. that afternoon i resolved to be able to make my way around a golf course without extreme frustration- and i can at least do that. no matter how bad the scores, i still have fun.
